Re-creating the internet with Screenlife
Unlimited Motion is not limited to motion capture. While it's not part of our core offering of motion capture, virtual production, or 3D scanning - we know how to work with 2D and 3D graphics.
We were recently approached by Screenlife UK - the UK arm of production company Bazelevs - to create some social media templates for some films they were making. Bazelevs are behind innovative screen-based films such as Searching and Unfriended.

So we got started - creating a slate of templates for the major social media sites within a few days. By the nature of websites like these, there are a massive number of interactive elements - messenger windows, notifications, typing animations etc.
Not all of these can be added into a template, but care was taken to make sure as much interactivity and flexibility was put in place. This was done via matching fonts across the site which could then be applied elsewhere in, for example, a pop-up. We also added details such as notification icons, active dots on Messenger, and a customisable ‘amount played’ bar on Spotify.
The deliverables were given in both Photoshop files and layered TIFFs - so no matter what software the filmmaker used they'd be able to use them. This was especially important as, going forward, these templates will be used by hundreds of people to create their screenlife work.
Not only static templates were created, but also a number of animated ones - such as FaceTime calling. By screen recording an actual FaceTime call then importing the video into After Effects, we replicated each element of the animation - from the length of time of a video fade to the movement of the text and video elements on the screen.
