I was responsible for developing a pipeline in Unreal Engine to shoot live-streamed mocap into pre-recorded live-action plates. This involved data wrangling high resolution 3D environment scans of the set, cameras 3D tracked to those sets, and hundreds of shots and plates to recreate the filmed scenes in Unreal Engine.

I was also working in tandem with other members of the Montreal team to refine custom plugins and blueprints to achieve the frame rate needed on-set (as this workflow had not been attempted before this shoot).

Following this I was responsible for leading a small team at Pinewood for the month-long mocap shoot. We were responsible for the Unreal side of the shoot – visualising the actors’ movements in real-time in-engine.

After the London mocap shoot, I provided Unreal support to a follow-up shoot in LA for another month as they shot Vcam footage.
